LWML - Lutheran Women's Missionary League

Christ Lutheran Church's LWML is a mission organization of which all Lutheran women are automatically members and all friends and guests are welcome to participate.  We are part of a National organization.

u51.gif (895 bytes)Mission Statement:  The Mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

u51.gif (895 bytes)Scheduled LWML Events:
           *    Homeless Sandwich Program:  Christ Lutheran LWML provides a homeless sandwich program.  We make 360 bologna and cheese sandwiches and donate them to St. Columba Ministries Homeless Day Shelter in Norfolk.
           *    Annual Chili Cook-Off Contest:  Our Annual Chili Cook-Off Contest is held every February, usually on a Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m (See event in above list of scheduled events for more specific information about any of the upcoming scheduled events).
           *    Bake Sales:   March 5, May 21, and October 1.
           *    Yard Sale:   August 19 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM..
           *    Spring Rally:   April 22 at Prince of Peace Lutheran in Virginia Beach from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
           *    Oktoberfest/Cake Auction: Date to be announced.
           *    School supply drive: August 27 with donations going to FOR KIDS organization.
           *    LWML Sunday:  October 8.
           *    Christmas Party:  December 9 at 11:30 AM.  Contact church office for location.

LWML DISTRICT CONVENTION
   The LWML District Convention will be held September 22-24, 2006 in Richmond, Virginia.   Any woman wishing to attend please contact the church office for further information.

    For our different events, we will have ingatherings that will benefit different groups such as Red Cross, Lutheran World Relief, Tsunami Victims, Seminary Tuition, School Supply Project, Food Locker Items for Lent.
