LUTHERAN HOUR MINISTRIES
Jesus gave an urgent
assignment to all Christians when He said, "Go...and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
It is an assignment given to us. LHM has more than 40 fully staffed offices
throughout the world to share the Good News of salvation with everyone who will listen.
They are doing what Jesus gave to all of us and are deserving of our support in
whatever way we can.
"The Lutheran Hour" is a 30-minute
program broadcast every Sunday morning from 8:00 - 8:30 on WTAR [850 on your AM radio
dial].
Sharing the Faith: "Look, the Lamb
of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29. In the midst of
the Lenten season, we were once again deeply awed at our Lord's willingness to bear our
sins for us. The suffering He endured and the love He showed, dying that we might
live. This love must be shared with all. That is Christ's command. He
died so that all might be saved through faith. We tell and the Holy Spirit converts.
You are asked to be a member of the team that
makes it possible for all to hear through Lutheran Hour Ministries. You can use the
gift envellpe that is in the middle of the Lenten Devotional Booklet entitled "The
Reality of God's Love".
It is a one segment of LUTHERAN HOUR
MINISTRIES (LHM) whose mission statement is "Bringing Christ to the Nations - and the
Nations to the Church". The Lutheran Hour has been on the air since 1930 and is
sponsored by the International Lutheran Laymen's League, which is an auxiliary of The
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
LHM programs can be found in over 135
countries and in 30 native languages, and are responsible for bringing the Good News of
Jesus Christ to people around the world. Support for these programs comes entirely
from individual donors and congregations.

It is never hard to find someone
with needs. Instead of praying only for the strength we need to survive this day or
this hour, how about praying for some to give away? A great spiritual principle goes
into effect here.
If you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and
your gloom be as the noonday And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy
your desire with good things, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered
garden, like a spring of water, whose waters fail not, .... Isiah 58:10-12 |

LABORERS FOR CHRIST
Consider this Call

Share the information with others
Since 1980, LFC has enabled more than 600 LCMS
congregations, schools and social ministry organizations to complete their building
projects.
LFC is in urgent need for more Laborers and
project managers immediately and in the future. Some projects must be delayed
because the "laborers are few."
Laborers for Christ are "retired"
Christian men and women who do physical labor for Christ, working for congregations and
other church-related organizations to build churches, schools, parish halls, retirement
homes, camp facilities or other facilities that need to be built.
Laborers come from varied occupational
backgrounds and those with experience help those with less experience. The hosting
congregation pays Laborers minimum wage and, if its members are able, they work alongside
the Laborers to complete the project.
Most Laborers have a recreational vehicle that
they move to the work site for the duration of the project housing for Laborers who do not
have recreational vehicles.
Being a Laborer for Christ is an interesting
and fulfilling way to spend one's retirement. While giving a little in service to
congregations for what Christ has given us, it is a great way to get acquainted with
different areas of the country, spending a few months in each location.
To become a Laborer with the program, a
completed application form and physical are required. Once accepted, an applicant's
name is entered into a database and a resume is compiled. When an applicant
indicates a willingness to work on a specific project, this resume is forwarded to the
congregation, which decides who it will hire for a particular project.
Pray for Laborers' travel, health, safety and
witness to the congregations and communities in which they serve. Ask the Lord to
continue to bless LFC's ministry of service and to send more Laborers into the harvest.
